A glimpse of a few ongoing projects that will change the look of the city.
One Colombo Project
This is an ongoing project developed as a joint venture with TATA housing development, a subsidiary of TATA Sons Ltd, one of the largest conglomerates in India. This project uplifted the livelihoods in the surrounding 8 acres in Slave Island and will modernize the landscape under the beautification of Colombo City development.
There were many barriers to this $ 450 million project that we had to overcome, such as negotiating with individual landlords in acquiring land, negotiating and providing assurance to the relevant ministries on successful completion and deliverance of the project and ensuring achievement of the expected outcomes for all stakeholders.
Whilst every temporary household shelter were given an apartment under the project, this mixed development project would also develop 650 apartments with office space, hotel and a retail shopping mall.
Urban Regeneration Scheme
This is a project that is developed in collaboration with JSTI Group Co Ltd of China, one of the largest companies in mainland China and a renowned company listed in the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. This is a US Dollar 75 Million project which comes under urban regeneration scheme of the government to build 2500 houses to uplift the standard of living of the community.
Marine Drive Hotel
This hotel is a project of Prosperous Assets (Pvt) Ltd. The hotel is to be developed in Colombo 4 overlooking the Indian Ocean. This is a $40 Million valued project and it is a highlight of colonial and modern architectural designs. This would consist of 341 standard rooms, 16 executive rooms and 20 serviced apartments. The hotel is in line with international accommodation standards comprising of a range of modern amenities such as restaurant, gym, spa, swimming pool, club house. Etc.
